What to Do

Local walks: A series of walks around the farm house are open for residents to use. These include walking alongside Cound Brook, through beautiful park land and woodland areas. Wildlife is abundant and binoculars can be borrowed for bird-watching.

Attingham Park: Just 10 minutes away, this National Trust property is an elegant 18th Century mansion with Regency interiors and extensive grounds and deer park. Many events are held at Attingham Park throughout the year, including open-air performances and concerts.

The South Shropshire Hills and Cardingmill Valley: A beautiful area of upland heath, owned and maintained by the National Trust, and providing excellent access to the Long Mynd – superb walking country.

The Historic Town of Shrewsbury: Only 6 miles from Grove Farm House, Shrewsbury is an attraction in itself with many things to do and see. The historic town includes Shrewsbury Castle, the 900 year old Abbey and many other historic buildings and churches. Walk along the River Severn through the Quarry Park and admire the floral displays in the ‘Dingle’. Shopping is a must in the town with many specialist boutiques rather than the usual chain stores and there are many cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from.

The Ironbridge Gorge Museums: The world's first iron bridge spans the River Severn in the town of Ironbridge and is the birth place of the industrial revolution, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums are nine award winning museums and sites that tell this momentous story.

Golf: Grove Farm House is lucky to be just one mile from Shrewsbury Golf Club, based in the village of Condover.  In fact the house and surrounding farmland features heavily in the views from this beautiful 18 hole course.  The par 70 course is set over rolling parkland with fantastic views of the South Shropshire Hills, Lyth Hill and the Wrekin.
